Balgowlah RSL

Project Background

Balgowlah RSL wanted to create a new Gaming Room to lift the look of the Club as well as attract and keep patrons. The project involved replacing around 84 Poker Machine Bases as well as Privacy Screens in the new room.

To do this they engaged leading Gaming Room designer Tony Donnelly to create the new room design. Tony Donnelly then partnered with Capital Design Works to form a three-way collaboration together with Balgowlah RSL to order to design, manufacture and install the Gaming Room Furniture to optimise the floor plan layout and look while meeting both the brief and the budget.

How Capital Design works approached the Project

Whilst still following the overall Tony Donnelly design brief we were able to recommend a number of enhancements to materials and placement that were adopted by the Balgowlah RSL resulting in improved patron flow and comfort.

In addition, using our experience, we helped Balgowlah RSL achieve a superior look and feel keeping within their planned budget by ensuring savings in non-critical areas and spending more in areas that have maximum effect.

Project Outcome

Balgowlah RSL has a great new Gaming Room facility with gaming revenue up 12% that allows easy patron flow as well as player comfort – all while optimising machine numbers and meeting the Tony Donnelly Design.

Because of the team collaborating together – Balgowlah RSL, Tony Donnelly and Capital Design Works we have a Gaming Room that Works
